Symptoms

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Engine may not start

Possible Causes

- Open or short in starter relay circuit - Faulty starter relay - ECM

When Detected

The ECM has detected an intermittent excessive current draw on the Starter Relay control circuit

Description

While the engine is being cranked, the battery positive voltage is applied to starter terminal of the ECM.
