Symptoms

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Possible Causes

- ECM/PCM Programming error - Faulty or wrong ECM/PCM

When Detected

DTC P0630 is set when the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is not stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or the input VIN is not accurate. Input the VIN with the hand−held tester.

Tech Notes

If a new ECM/PCM is installed in a vehicle, the VIN has to be reprogrammed to the new ECM/PCM
